Review on Unleash Pure Audio Bliss with SONY WH1000XM3 Bluetooth Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones (Renewed) by Lorena Grant

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Heavy bass in headphones

I received refurbished headphones and they were in perfect condition and updated to the latest firmware. Other pairs I own are the Bose QC35, the QC25 and the Beyerdynamic Custom Studio. Latest Bluetooth codecs (AptX, AptX HD, AAC, LDAC, SBC) Best noise cancellation on the market Fast charging Long battery life Good Android app Cons No AptX LL support Mediocre audio quality The base is really overdone making it sound very boomy and muffled . the high ones are gone. The piano sounds very distorted. Reviewers who claim the Bose QC35 has officially been dethroned are likely bassists. I bought them because they support AptX and Bose doesn't, but my Bose just sounds better. If you have any doubts about buying them, I'd highly recommend going through the test and reviewing the audio spectrum review and measurements, which objectively show that Bose reproduces sound more accurately, particularly low frequencies. If you want to stick with Sony, the Sony H900N has better sound than the MX3 and supports AptX, but noise-cancellation isn't as good. Verdict: If noise-cancellation is your primary concern, the Sony WH1000XM3 and Bose QC35 are your best bets. If sound quality is most important to you, the Sony H900N and Bose QC35 are your best choices. If you are mainly interested in Bluetooth codecs, Sony WH1000XM3 and Sony H900N are your best choices (unless you only use Apple products). te AAC via Bluetooth. If you have a Windows PC with Bluetooth you will need to use an SBC for Bluetooth or purchase a dongle with AptX. Since Bose does not support AptX and there is no AAC key, Bose is not a good option. For Windows PC, Sony WH1000XM3 and Sony H900N are best because they support AAC and AptX.EQ can solve some audio problems. However, in the Android version of the Sony EQ app, you can only use the equalizer with the SBC Bluetooth codec, which degrades the sound quality. This is pointless and totally counterintuitive. In the iPhone app, you can use the equalizer with either SBC or AAC. Luckily I have a Samsung S8 Android device with a decent system-wide equalizer that can be used together with high-quality Bluetooth codecs (AptX, AAC, LDAC). ). I used the sound spectrum measurements for these headphones posted on the rtings website to adjust the EQ accordingly and get a flat response. Headphones sound much better with EQ correction. Sony should have used an internal equalizer (like Bose) on these headphones to improve the sound. Here are my EQ settings 63Hz -1dB125Hz -2dB250Hz -3dB500Hz -2dB1kHz 0dB2kHz +2dB4kHz -2dB8kHz 0dB16kHz +2dB
