Review on πŸ”‹ Enhanced Cooling Performance with the Belkin F5L001 Laptop Cooling Pad by James Arellano

Good but could be better

I bought a Betkin laptop cooling pad in late August and have been using it *daily*, all day, every day since. But just last week I went to the grocery store to get it hooked up - it worked fine at home - while my son was playing at the day care center and the spot where the adapter goes into the cooling pad broke. . For some reason the adapter area got caught in the pad itself and there is no way to pull it out, tap it or do anything else to get it back in place. So, I have no idea how to do a return or anything like that, but I'll check how to do it. Since I'm giving this review, I'll add a few more cons: It can tip the cooling pad when you slide the laptop backwards on any surface if you don't hold it with one hand while moving the pad. The adapter that goes from the stand to the USB stick can be a bit longer to avoid tension caused by pushing the tablet/laptop together. A fan screen would be really nice considering you have to put your fingers on the back of the tablet to move it or something. . I've found that if the cooling pad fan is used all day, sometimes unplugging and plugging the USB adapter back into the laptop helps the fan work better. All I can say is that sometimes my laptop feels really cool and after an hour or so it's "hot" and I haven't moved a thing. I have no idea if it's due to a hang or a slowing down of the fan or something else. Overall, this is a definite step in the right direction for laptop cooling pads, but more work needs to be done.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • So far so good
