From 280W to 28W. Ideal replacement for halogens!

This is an ideal replacement for overheated and inefficient halogen bulbs without the need to replace the fixtures. The brightness of the LED bulbs is identical to the 20W halogen bulbs, and the color is very similar. The yellow tone is more than the reddish of halogens. Color and brightness: In the attached photos I have replaced the left light by replacing the halogens with LED bulbs. Halogens are still in the right lamp. You can see that the stone backsplash looks slightly yellow on the left side and slightly reddish on the right side. This color difference is almost imperceptible, and after replacing all the bulbs, it is difficult to tell if they are LED bulbs. Power Consumption and Temperatures: I've read some reviews that say they don't get hot at all. That is not right. If left for a while they will get hot (especially the ceramic part) but they can still be touched because they are not too hot for skin contact. The halogens were so hot that they warmed the entire upper cabinets. With halogens, with 14 bulbs under the counter, I used 280 watts of power, and now with these LEDs, I'm only using 28 watts. Cabinets no longer change temperature when the light is on. Reliability: I waited a few weeks before writing this review to see if I had any blown bulbs and still not. I bought 20 lightbulbs so I have backups if one goes out. Typically, these types of electronics either die quickly due to manufacturing defects or last a very long time. I was lucky that I didn't have any mistakes. I bet they'll last a while, but I was willing to replace a few prematurely blown bulbs. --- UPDATE: February 2018 --- None of the 14 original lamps that I installed in the base cabinet lighting have failed since then. I installed them a year ago. I keep these bulbs on much longer than halogens due to heat/power issues. Super happy with them. I would give them 6 stars if I could.
