Belt looks the same as in the photo. Firm grain leather, not too thick. I like the beveled edge but if you want square edges look elsewhere. Notes: 1) If you want to use a heavy duty buckle with a thick frame, you will have trouble closing the button because it is too close to the loop (which holds the buckle frame and not the loop). Thin buckles will do. 2) My Tandy Leather 1-1/2" Solid Antique Brass Wave Buckle 1641-09 has a thick prong, so I had to widen and lengthen the slot for it with a utility knife before it could fit. .
