I use this harness for a 27 lb, 15 year old dog who has been a runaway all his life. Admittedly it does bring kinks to the line over time, usually when there are loud noises such as thunder from the occasional thunderstorm. I usually have to change it every 2-4 months but my dog has solid muscles. Its strength is about the same as a normal dog weighing 80 to 100 pounds. When he's scared, he has the power of Samson. Overall I think it's a pretty good tether. $14 is a small price I have to pay every 3 months on average to keep my escape artist from roaming the neighborhood leaving my middle-aged self chasing him.
