While I understand the purpose of the memoir is to provide a semblance of personal experience and to reflect a series of events, I had a major problem with this one book was that it focused too much on the author's private life. The book recognizes that Kathy Tour was in a unique position to be in the Trump campaign as a national joke from the start and promised, as the subtitle suggests, "a front row seat to the craziest campaign in American history." ". " But instead, this book is a front-row seat in the personal life of a reporter who was fortunate enough to cover the craziest campaign in American history. The author reported, and in that regard I was disappointed. There were quite a few interesting anecdotes about real life experiences and interactions with the campaign itself, but there was much more speculation about the author's personal relationships and interactions with minor characters (like other journalists) A few interesting anecdotes about the 2016 Trump campaign or focusing on the above the personal life of a political journalist covering the campaign, this book might be for you, but if you're looking for an insightful account that really highlights the nuances of such a historic and norm-breaking campaign, you'll probably miss this title a bit.
