Review on FUNLMO Cartilage Earring Surgical Earrings by Lori Allen

At first I really liked this earring. The small opals are very cute. I also liked that they were only 6mm thick to fit my ear better. However, after wearing this piece for about a week or two, I noticed a few issues. I ordered it for my rook piercing. During this time I have changed this earring several times. I ordered the 16 gauge they pierced me with and what piercings I always wore. However, it seems to me that this is not a true 16 gauge. Because the stones are not set in jewelry, they feel a little rough. There is also nothing separating the stones from the smooth metal. Again, I don't think this is a true 16 gauge as the earring twists and the stones end up in my piercing. Due to the rough edges, it basically tore the inside of my piercing which has fully healed. I figured I could deal with it if I just started cleaning it again like I pierced it the first time. But even with the religious purge, I couldn't even lie on that side (which I didn't even struggle with when I originally pierced). It became badly infected and when I wanted to take it out I had trouble getting the clasp off because the ring is so small and the way the clasp closes. After trying to pull it out with my hands for about 15 minutes, I finally had to use tweezers to disassemble the clasp. My ear was so swollen that I could hardly put the earring I was wearing before. I compared it to some 16 gauge earrings I had and it seemed a bit smaller. While I don't think it's as small as a 18, it's definitely smaller than a real 16. While I think it's a very cute piece of jewelry, I just don't think it's well designed. The first photo is just before I took the ring off and the second is the day after I replaced it with one of my old pieces. In the next few days everything went back to normal, but it was a very scary situation.
