Does a bell ring when thrown in the trash?

Great idea and a nice bell tone, but ultimately a piece of junk. The band didn't fit in the slot for love, money, or pliers. I wrote to the MFGR, no reply. I even tried cutting the ribbon but it still didn't fit.
