I really wish they were narrower. As a result, the cushioning of the shoes is soft and I could well imagine walking for miles in them. The straps also felt soft, not so hard that it hurt to rub against your legs. The problem is that they are quite wide. So if you have narrow feet then these sandals are not for you. But if you have wider feet I recommend buying them because I think they will be quite comfortable for those with wider feet. Unfortunately I will be returning them but they are excellent quality for the right foot.
