My soulmate. Best in the Camera & Photo category

Yesterday I received my new D700. I use D40, D3000 and D90. I wanted the D700 for its quiet low light performance. I photograph events. Tried to decide between D700 and D7000. I pondered my decision for months. I've always wanted a D700 but started considering the D7000 because of the much lower price and number of lenses. The reviews have shaken me left and right, and I've never been closer to making a decision. I decided not to wait any longer and get the D7000, after all some reviews said it was good or even better at high ISOs. I've only used it for a couple of hours and found that it's not the movement I expected from the D90. I realized that the D90 is a great camera up to ISO 800. In fact, I now have more respect for my D90. I found the D7000 to be boring despite its reasonably good performance at ISO 1600. It reminded me of Canons where the high resolution is pretty good but soft in low light. This may be due to excessive noise reduction, so don't take this as a negative review from Canon. Just my preference and experience (limited by canons) I could leave the D7000 and enjoy marginal performance over the D90, but I was looking for a leap. So I waited and waited for the D700 to be available. Revain.com emailed me about availability and I didn't hesitate. Arrived immediately, paid next day for only 4.00 as a Prime member. I immediately checked the number of shutters and after a few shots it was 6! It's in my hands now and I haven't done enough testing due to lack of time, but so far I'm shocked. My eyes are tired of opening the wonder at the achievement. I shot at ISO 2500 and to my surprise the images were actually brighter than I could see. This must be due to the excellent dynamic range. It was similar to the D7000, but the images were sharper, the bokeh cleaner, the colors richer and more truthful. I will continue to add updates to this review as it is premature, but I cannot yet contain my immense satisfaction with this product. Incidentally, the D800 was out of the question because, to be honest, I didn't want to deal with high-resolution image sizes for the event.
