Good idea, but defective

I don't want to spoil too much because it's ALMOST a great chair. Unfortunately, mine has a fatal flaw that causes it to fail. Due to the fact that I have middle-aged male slimming butt these days, regular sitting was really hurting my tailbone and I was looking for a solution. You probably can't borrow a kneeler from a buddy, so I knew I had to spend some money to experiment. First the problem with 1 star. Look at the customer's photo I posted - the knee pad was in an odd curve - a bump left of center (left knee sits in it) with a slight downward slope towards the edge. Looks pretty skinny but MY LEFT KNEE SLIPS OFF THE PILLOW. This is of course totally unacceptable. When I'm sitting in my chair, I get distracted from my work or reading because I'm squirming and trying not to fall! Due to the risk of this defect I have to say do not buy this chair. Try another. If they did it to me, they can do it to you. It's easy to imagine how this problem can be mitigated in chair design - any finesse at the ends, a concavity, even a bulge at the edge. But my lesson is this: A simple flat pillow, like a knee pad, is suspect. Next to? I think I like the concept of the kneeling chair. Advantages: It effectively relieves the tailbone, so there is no pain. Cons: It shifts the pressure to the knees. It's not entirely without discomfort after a while, but it's not a big deal to me, I'm too restless to sit in a chair for 3 hours at a time without moving. Possible downside: It BOOSTS you more than you expect. Maybe 5-6 inches. Not trivial. You may find that your regulars' table doesn't work with it. I have a height-adjustable table; I cranked it up to the max, 3.5 inches higher than before, and it's still lower than I'm used to, although it will probably work. I really think it works best with a sit-stand desk that's easily adjustable over a wide range. heights.
