Didn't really cancel out noise and lost sound to one side or the other

Bought these for my three grandchildren. The price was good. However, they got over it in about 6 months. I suspect they weren't careful when using them as they all lost sound on one side or the other. Also, make a crackling sound when you move even a little. It was annoying.
