Review on Laptop Cooling Flexible Colorful Adjustable by Omar Card

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Cools as it should!

I gave this rug 5 stars but if I could I would give it at least 4 and 1/2 stars rather than deducting a whole star as it is almost a 5. Here are my reasons; one). I couldn't turn off the LEDs. If there was a setting for it I wouldn't find it, and in a dark room it's very intrusive. Everything would be fine if there was a dimmer. When you work at a desk, you don't notice it because your position is so high that it's not noticeable. When the LEDs are on, your laptop's heat/power consumption also increases. This can be circumvented by plugging the USB into an extra USB port instead of the laptop, which occupies a potentially much-needed USB port on your laptop that can be used for other purposes. 3). This isn't really a negative issue with the pad itself, but rather an issue with my particular laptop model (Dell Alienware) and something a buyer should consider before making a purchase. The air intake on my laptop pulls air in from the bottom and expels it from the back. The pad sucks in air from the back and directs it into the laptop from below. This arrangement, at least on my Dell, pulls "filtered" but preheated air out of my laptop and then feeds it back to my laptop. I got around this problem by placing a plastic baffle separating the air, but this is less than desirable and looks weird! full star. Now for the merits of this rug. It has a filter that helps keep dust, hair, etc. away from your laptop. Many pads do not have such a filter. It cools as intended and is fairly quiet even at high fan speeds. I love that it has a rubber gasket around the bottom of your laptop that helps contain and direct air to the bottom of your laptop. Many pads that lack this feature let air escape out the sides, which can be annoying when working, and don't direct air into your laptop where it needs to be. This gasket also guides and holds the LEDs, creating a comfortable working environment. They also give you extra casting if and when it gets damaged from overuse. There are two hard plastic arms (which can be moved depending on the size of your laptop) that hold your laptop in place and up to the rubber grommet. The angle of the cushion is ideal for comfort and working conditions. Unlike other pads, this angle isn't adjustable unless you're propping something up under the back of the pad, and it doesn't fold, so it's not easy to fit in a backpack. Overall, this mat has pros and cons over other mats, so it's worth comparing and getting exactly what you need for your individual laptop and personal need/use.
