I have had Shannon Crystal whiskey and highball glasses for a number of years now. I finally decided to upgrade my everyday glasses to match, so I ordered iced beverage glasses and wine glasses. Iced Bev are heavy and strong but they are made in China and I doubt they are really 24k lead crystal; The info on the box just says it's "Crystal", but it's more like pressed glass. You can clearly see and feel the seams where the shape has been pressed together. However, that is not the case. The glass is thick and has no 24K lead crystal "ring" or luster. But honestly, you don't pay the price for 24k lead crystal glass. My barware is definitely 24k lead crystal and made in Ireland. The decal was a green diamond with the Shannon logo on it. It's a gray sticker that says Made in China on the back. Very disappointing. The glasses are also larger than the wine glasses I bought to go with them, despite being the same brand and model. Wine glasses are made in the Czech Republic, they're delicate, beautiful, heavy and durable, but they have that 24K shine that they lack. I'm guessing it's "crystal" vs real lead crystal. For everyday use, they fit well and look very nice on the table. I gave it a 3 for a gift simply because of the noticeable stitching on both sides of the glass but other than that they are really nice for everyday use and would make a lovely addition to a countertop.
