The switch works well but there are a few issues that should make you abandon this switch in favor of something more comfortable: 1) There is noticeable sparking inside the switch when you rotate it between positions. The light switches are bent at times and you can see the flash, but this one is particularly candid. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's very noticeable when it happens. 2) The paddle is difficult to move, resulting in a higher arc when jumping multiple positions at once. It is also difficult to select the desired setting3). 1 is the fastest* speed and 4 is the slowest. The UX of this thing is different than the usual (USA) ceiling fan controller. Box fans and floor fans often go from Off->High->Mid->Low, but not ceiling fans. Very strange and takes some getting used to, especially when all the other switches and fan controls in the house work the other way around. On the plus side, the switch is easy to install and serves its purpose. It's definitely pretty lame, and you'd do well to spend a little more bucks on a nicer one.
