I took a close look at an underwater digital camera and found it to be one of the best on the market. Great reviews but as with anything that can be submerged had some issues. I bought it as a Christmas present last year and we haven't had any problems until recently. The camera takes great photos/videos both in the water and on land - crystal clear, the sound quality on it is really great (video) and we really enjoyed using it before our big holiday this fall. However, we recently ran into an issue when trying to turn it on. While we were using it at the beach, it suddenly wouldn't turn on. We thought maybe the battery was dead because we pressed the power button and heard the "beep-beep-beep" the camera makes when it turns on, but the screen didn't turn on. We also checked the waterproof SD card and battery compartment and everything was clean and dry. After a couple of days of charging it still wouldn't turn on and we found the screen looked like there was condensation on it. I called Panasonic and they asked me to send the camera in and they said they would either fix it or replace it (because it's still under warranty). They actually sent us a new camera as they couldn't fix the screen issue. Even without that somewhat disappointing issue, we both love the camera!
