Review on Listed Cable Matters Shielded Keystone by Napoleon Robbie

This new design is worse.

When I bought them in 2017 they were pretty good. The 2020 model I clicked again is not what I want. The 2017 model had colored labels on the jack itself, not just on the fitting. It supported both tool-less installation and punch-in installation. The tool-less method is all the new design supports. The problem is that the ends of the wires tend to stick out further and, I found, can short out to the case. There was always a small plastic insulator inside the case to prevent this short circuit, but the end of the copper wire can be sharp enough to pierce the insulation. and was such that it was easy to cut the ends of the wires with enough clearance so they wouldn't short to the metal case. The old design also had no shutter. It was just a jack sold, like any other jack. The roller shutter is an unusual feature that breaks down over time. Anyone using this connector has good quality cables with a plastic tab to hold the cable in place eliminating the need for a connector. If this bolt breaks, the entire jack will need to be replaced. If the cable table breaks, it's much easier to just use a new cable or connector. Finally, the collar around the cable has been made cheaper in this new design, having previously consisted of large metal semi-circles that had to be zipped shut. . Now one half is missing and the other half is smaller, making the connection less reliable.
