Good product for Category 6a (takes getting used to)

I bought these to run Category 6a cabling around the house (unshielded cabling). This way I can receive POE anywhere in my house with Ubiquiti switches. Overall, using these keystones was a bit difficult at first. It is very difficult to connect keystones after the cables are ready to be routed to the keystone jack. The good thing, however, is that they are tool-free. The easiest way I've found to snap them into place is to use pliers. It worked great. Once closed they are very secure. Also, I…

This new design is worse.

When I bought them in 2017 they were pretty good. The 2020 model I clicked again is not what I want. The 2017 model had colored labels on the jack itself, not just on the fitting. It supported both tool-less installation and punch-in installation. The tool-less method is all the new design supports. The problem is that the ends of the wires tend to stick out further and, I found, can short out to the case. There was always a small plastic insulator inside the case to prevent this short circuit,

Some design issues; Know what you are getting

Like other Cable Matters products I have received they appear to be of high quality. After some correspondence with the seller: (1) They are designed for use in metal racks/distribution panels to provide the grounding required for shielded cables. If they have to be inserted into the plastic wall panels at both ends, be prepared for a lot of improvisation. (2) The only indication of the relationship between the pins where the wires are inserted and the RJ45 pinout is the color coding on the…
