Photo description does NOT match New design = Not good - Not cool

UPDATE 09/13/2016: So if we buy a product more than once, we obviously have no way to "see" the last purchase on Amazon . simply merge the rating from your original purchase. So I now have to "combine" my review as an update BECAUSE the original item I reviewed below IS DIFFERENT which is why customers have been asking about this "new design" and how/if it is taken apart. I took some photos of this new design and it's not very well thought out. Someone somewhere must have thought it better to design a ball that opens up around the center circle and what a multilevel mistake. Firstly I still haven't been able to break off the tabs which seem to allow the ball to detach for easier cleaning maybe? I won't try any further, I've put a lot of effort into taking this thing apart, a lot more, and it will break the plastic, probably along a lot of air vents etc. Second and most importantly these 'new' lugs create big ones Indentations and I have to assume you'll have to put your fingers through them to help you separate the two pieces and those large indentations make for a very bumpy ride for the beast inside, not to mention "one more time" they are very poorly designed and don't work at all, IF they work at all. Thirdly, as indicated below, if you do not watch every movement it makes in the ball, there is already a chance that your small animal (our hamster) will run away, because the swirling top tends to shift and burst, causing it the hatch escapes. NOW there are FOUR MORE tabs to fail. I know there will be peanut gallery lovers out there trying to give a lecture on how to "monitor your hamster every second he/she is in the ball". Well, that's what I'm saying, you should have all the time in the world to follow him and stare at him. like a rolling hamster because most of us get them so the little critters can "walk" without "running" or getting into dangerous situations. it is, and it should be a way to just let them walk around safely and not have to follow them constantly, why else buy a damn ball? In any case, this "model" NOT the same as the picture shown on the purchase page will be back as soon as possible. This is poor design and not a well thought out idea, at least for those who own or understand small creatures like hamsters. "First Review/Product" (before redesign) So far, so good. It works as advertised and my daughter's new hamster loves riding it around the house. He'd rather be free and he escaped his extravagant paddock and we found him under the dishwasher gnawing at the floor rather than the wires and hoses in my new Bosch dishwasher, thank god for him. So giving him some space to roam around is a much better option for all of us. The plastic feels solid and the lid stays nice and comfortable, keeping the little guy safe inside. substandard materials or their combination.
