Keeps an elderly patient with mild dementia in bed at night. This is a double slatted base as her bed does not lean against the wall. The rail isn't difficult to install, but you may need to move or remove the mattress, so keep that in mind. The lowering and raising mechanism is fine, but sometimes the rails that allow the rail to slide between the mattresses are a bit difficult to attach. Caregivers will struggle with this a bit, but they've always managed to get it sliding after some effort. I think the rails between the box frame and the mattress could be adjusted or positioned better which would allow the bed rails to slide more easily. This bed rail system has been running for months now and is well worth the price. Not sure if it will hold up when the kid leans on it or pulls it down. It is mainly used as a reminder and deterrent to prevent a child or elderly person from rolling out of bed.
