If you're looking around and are currently tempted to buy a slightly cheaper set of plastic shells, don't. They are well designed with nice clean edges and strong posts to hold them together. Baskets are slightly taller than regular metal trays, making them both beautiful and useful. In comparison, an entire stack of unopened paper can be placed in each tray. Updated 11/05/2013: I love that they are metal - MUCH better than the plastic ones but I gave up on using them due to the design. Defect. The 3 trays are held together with a cheap plastic bolt. If you bump into them or try to move, or your housekeeper tries to move to clean, they will fall apart and usually just break. This is with very careful and careful use after it happened to my first set. Now I have 9 separate compartments that I don't need. *** Moral of the story: if you want them to add up, these aren't the ones!
