PLEASE NOTE: This review is for all four pieces of furniture we have purchased. This end table storage system was the first one we put together and was the easiest part with no "problems". Good. Continue reading. First, it's a pretty decent wood and material. There were some minor blemishes in the finish, but I expected that from a "problematic" finish. Directions were ok but definition of front, back etc could be a bit better Some parts were marked left and right; but the front and back would also be very useful as I will mention later. And the packaging was really good; We had no damage to the four pieces we bought. Based on the other reviews I read I think we got lucky. Now let's move on to OK and something not so good. My husband and I work very well together, following directions and assembling what needs to be assembled. We bought four from Simpli Home. The first, extreme table, gathered like the wind. The coffee table was then pretty basic, but with two flaws: we had turned part of the divider upside down, and the hardware that came with it was for a dresser, not a coffee table. We were able to purchase the necessary wooden dowels at the local hardware store and used most of the other hardware provided. Unfortunately the grips were wrong so I'm waiting for their support team to get in touch. Third, a pantry that my husband easily assembled himself. Finally this beast from the entertainment center. After several hours of assembly by two fairly skilled people, we have an assembled piece of furniture. We had to take it apart to rotate the center piece when we realized the two pieces were back to front. After assembling and installing the hardware, we found that the end faces were also facing the wrong way, preventing the front doors from being installed on the ends; Hinges don't fit. Finally, it is not clear how the bottom shelf of the descent section should be installed; the side with the beveled buttonhole looks like it's facing up; But when we tried to install the hinged door it failed. We're not going to take everything apart just to twist the two end pieces, so we'll leave the ends undone; we will make it. We will also remove the flap door and leave it open. So as a bonus we can use the handles of these useless pieces and put them on the coffee table. If you are interested in furniture from this company and are unfamiliar with assembly, I recommend finding the extra $$ and selecting the pre-assembly option.
