This product is a total fraud. This is a total scam. It does NOTHING but looks cute! I am a registered chemist and chemical engineer with extensive experience in UVA-BC specifically air and water for odor/bacterial/viral control. These devices do NOT produce detectable amounts of ionized particles for this type of work! An influence on the room air is not detectable! I bought these two because I've had several similar looking devices in the past, however they generated negatively charged ionized particles through the metal plates inside the device, with the exception of ultraviolet radiation. They worked perfectly and produced ions immediately after activation, as evidenced by their distinctive smell. They produced NOTHING, even after 24 hours in a tiny closed room with the air totally stagnant! These devices do NOTHING except take your money! Beware. Stay away from this scam! I returned both for full credit. The next day I bought an Ionicpro Compact/Ionic Air Purifier, the same one I had owned in the past. A whiff of ionized particles was detected immediately after switching on (without fan). An hour later, the air in the room began to smell distinctly clean. Whenever I go outside, I have a pleasant feeling of clean air. I've now ordered a second one. One for my office and one for my bedroom. Now I'm a happy tourist!
