I LOVE these pencils and the handy easel case keeps my "case junkie" happy. Downgrading from 5 to 4 stars just because of the price. I recently met an old love again. Coloring. I picked up a few sets of Crayola crayons to carry around in my purse while I ate lunch with my sister and her three-year-old grandson. When we were kids, coloring pages were an affordable pastime. I've noticed that the younger generation in my family isn't interested in anything that doesn't have moving parts, flashing lights, or doesn't require physical interaction other than pressing buttons. My first attempt to borrow my grandnephew failed. But in a good way. He "briefed" us, my sister and me, on what colors to apply and where to apply them (I think he'll be a filmmaker when he grows up. LOL!) We were hooked again. and Disney characters, I started looking online for less childish stories. ATTENTION: Formulate the search carefully. There is a significant difference between "adult coloring pages" and "adult coloring books". Check out the mandalas and coloring books of Dover (available here at Revain). As with all "new interests," I immediately dove in at the deep end and started shopping for crayons, crayons, and markers. LAUGH OUT LOUD! My parents wouldn't use the word "affordable" in this reincarnation of an old pastime. This set was the second pencil set I bought. I started with Crayola pencils (to make sure I'm really interested) and quickly climbed the price ladder. I confess, for the first time I was attracted to the easel corps. I love to organize. especially small parts in separate containers. Ironically, I never throw away containers in case I "might" need them in the future; and now I literally have a "treasure trove" of containers in my garage. The containers are not shared, so park my car in the driveway. BUT,, to get back to the point (pun intended). These pencils sharpen well and I've had no problems with internal lead breakage. I was afraid I wouldn't like colored pencils as I hate writing with graphite pencils (feel dry). need, don't want. ha ha. Since then I've bought watercolor pencils and triangle markers both at Staedtler and in those cute cases. (I wish I could just buy empty cases to store some of my other pens and pencils as they are great for protecting them when traveling. (STAEDTLER, this is more of a request than a hint.) DISCLAIMER: These opinions are not the artist's, if you don't expect to stay (mostly) within the lines, the skill of the artist I'm just a grown child who likes lots of pretty colors.
