If like me you need something fairly specific but aren't a production house colorist or anything, this is a pretty decent monitor. It needs to be calibrated out of the box. I highly recommend you buy at least one Spider X calibrator and then use some online resources for a free calibration. The Spiderx software doesn't actually calibrate very well. Having a 4K monitor is great, but you're still stuck in 8-bit color space, which is pretty unfortunate. I only edit 10-bit footage. Still, it does its job quite well, and if you're not a colorist and calibrate it anyway, it will work very well. Unfortunately some work is required to bring it up to this standard. I think it's definitely worth the money.
