I got this for my dog who has signs of separation anxiety and mild aggression. He is a Shepherd mix so this size fits him. I haven't noticed any drastic changes in his temperament as he becomes more and more irritated by car rides and new people. This makes it easier for him to fall asleep indoors. He doesn't realize he's being carried but I'm not sure if he's not a snug fit or if he's just suffering from something else as he has shown some behavioral changes in confined spaces but his other issues may require additional veterinary attention . As for construction, it fits well and stretches. There has never been a tear or detachment of the Velcro from the main body of the vest.
