This is a great idea, I thought my 6 year old would love it after watching TV commercials about how easy and fun little girls play with this. Needless to say, this is very difficult to control. We have a decent sized open house and you have to follow this thing everywhere. It flies into closets, plants and knocks down everything it hits. To be honest, I'm worried he'll cut my daughter's face (or worse, the apple of her eye) because you have to grab his legs if he gets out of control. I don't know if ours is broken but you have about 5 seconds while driving to stand still before she starts skidding on her own and you have to chase her. The wings spin at a million miles an hour and it's a little difficult for a 6-year-old to grab his legs to regain control. Usually she just kicks him and he sends him on a horizontal kamikaze mission before crashing into the next obstacle (those were our painted kitchen cabinets, some of which had paint chipped off). He slapped her arm and face several times, and she began to cry. Maybe she's too young, but we ended up putting it in the closet before someone gets hurt and does more damage to our home.
