My son is almost 6 years old and has a 7 year old scooter and it's worn out. We figured we'd push it beforehand since my older boys skateboard and I'm not ready for it. It's a bit difficult for him to handle and ride, although the brakes are still the same, the frame is a lot thinner so he has to get used to it. Although the scooter is much larger, the weight is much lighter, so this is another feature that needs to be adjusted and learned. He loves it although he refused to let it outside as he says he can't let anyone steal it so he went back to his room.
