I am a runner and have a very energetic dog who loves to run with me! Soon we will even run our first 10 km race together. I wear a running harness that I connect my phone to and I just tied his regular dog leash to my running harness but I decided to try a real harness/leash for it. I ordered the best three hand leashes I could find on Amazon: one for $17, one for $26, and this one for $10. I've walked around our area with all three and this one was simply the best! I love the belt and how it hugs my waist and is easy to adjust compared to others I've ordered. I thought the part of the leash was too short for him but it was actually the perfect length and it helped to have the same retractable part, when he tugged to avoid yanking he had some slack and I found it out with the longer ones. is that when he slows down and walks next to me he can easily trip over the extra leash so this length was perfect even if he wants to slow down and walk right next to me. The only thing it didn't have was a small dog poop bag attachment, which I probably didn't want to shake and dangle from my belt while running, but I would have to tuck the bag into my waist belt. or instead a pocket for running shorts, which isn't such a big deal. Definitely recommend the hands-free option for walking, hiking and definitely running!
