For moistening plants. I like the portability and the fact that it has a battery. Make sure you buy the 2200mA version. What I didn't like was that it took a month. I bought four of these and two have since died. Doesn't charge. Also, spongy wicks tend to smell a bit musty after a few days. What I did was run the device in a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution and then once the smell was gone I ran it back in regular water and then used it again on my plants. Like a process, but it worked. I don't know if I'll buy another one or try something else. They were very quiet, very small, easily rechargeable. However, durability is questionable.
