We've had it for about 2 or 3 months. After using it 24/7 and plugging and unplugging it from time to time, I notice that the connectors from the wall socket to the actual female end in the cable become loose and moving the cable affects the brightness of the light. I think if you put it in a place where it doesn't move or turn off, you would keep the original brightness of the light. I still highly recommend it as I'm pretty sure this is a bug or malfunction that I caused and has nothing to do with the quality of the product. And as for the 'clutch', it came with those plastic clips and screws holding it in place. They work very well.
