Review on VIKINGS BLADE Crusader Adjustable Safety by Misty Mcclellan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked well but not for long

Works perfectly, too bad it didn't last more than five months. The "gold" finish began to wear away almost immediately after the razor was put into use, revealing a mottled chrome look. This hasn't affected its function, but during blade changes the tiny "shoulders" on the fixed part on one side of the razor broke, preventing one side of the "butterfly" knot from latching in the closed position. The side that could still close also became unusable because the blade was no longer folded into the correct curve. The attached picture shows a tiny missing part of the solid body that is supposed to resist the closing stress of the butterfly mechanism. It broke due to the closing force of the butterfly knot after changing the blade. I used standard feather blades for reference. I've also noticed that Feather blades used to get red rust from iron oxide where they made razor contact, possibly due to material differences between the blade and razor - this never happened on my previous steel (using the same batch of Feather blades) . . / Chrome Razor.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • There are nuances
