Review on E.L.F. Flawless Brightening Concealer, Illuminating & Highlighting Face Makeup, Conceals Dark Under Eye Circles, Light 23 C, 0.07 Fl Oz by Ben Duncan

This comes in standard outer cardboard packaging. It is made in China. Ingredients are listed. It is vegan and cruelty free (PETA certified).This comes with a kind of brush applicator rather than a doe foot and you press a button on the end of it to get product out. When first using it, you need to click quite a few times to get it primed and get product to come out. You have to be really carefully when clicking the end to get out product because it takes a few clicks and if you do it too fast, you end up with a big glob of it coming out. As long as you click it slowly - click and wait to see what comes out - then I found I had no issues with getting too much product out. When first priming it, I’d recommend clicking it quickly a handful of times and then start doing it a little slower to avoid having way too much spit out when it does if you’re too fast. I’m not a fan of the brush tip applicators. They’re fine to brush on the concealer. But I’d just rather have a doe foot personally.I got "Fair 10C,” which was described as "cool pink undertones.” I like they gave a description with the shade. Not many brands ever seem to do that these days! It is a fair shade that leans pink. It is accurate to the product photos.This is VERY sheer. It said that it is a lightweight formula that conceals uneven skin tone, creates a brightened, flawless complexion, and has creamy, buildable coverage. To me, this doesn’t have hardly any coverage. If you apply a thin layer, you get a slightly brightened look with extremely sheer coverage. You can apply another layer to get a little more coverage but it’s still very light coverage. I found if I want to get light coverage, I need to use more than I normally would with a concealer. Luckily, this is very thin and lightweight so it doesn’t look cakey at all when I apply more. It’s also hydrating so doesn’t look dry. I’m able to get nice light coverage with it. I can’t really say that it gives any more than that in my opinion.Overall, this is an okay concealer if you want light coverage. It’s very thin and lightweight and feels hydrating. It applies nicely where it looks smooth and not heavy, dry, or cakey, even after applying more than I usually would with a concealer. If I just apply a very thin light layer, it doesn’t crease so I don’t need to set it. But if I apply more to get light coverage, it does crease some so I need to set it very lightly with powder. It still doesn’t look dry or cakey once set with powder. But, my favorite way to use this is to apply a light layer before I use a full coverage concealer. It gives me hydration full coverage concealers never do and gives a nice smooth base for the full coverage concealer to go over it. I already only ever need a few dots of a full coverage concealer, but it still can look dry and cakey at times. When I’ve been using this beforehand, I haven’t had any issues with my full coverage concealer looking dry or cakey at all! Given that this is so affordable, I’ll definitely purchase it again to use it that way - kind of like a hydrating under eye primer before a full coverage concealer. It’s also good for no makeup days where I still want my under eyes circles concealed. It’s so lightweight and gives such light coverage that it doesn’t look like I have concealer on but covers up the darkness enough for a no makeup, makeup day. I don’t like the brush applicator with the clicking to get product out, but like I said before, as long as I’m slow clicking it, I don’t get a big glob of product out. So, I give this 4 stars! If you’re looking for a lightweight, light cover concealer, I’d recommend this. If you like full coverage concealers but find they can often look dry/cakey, I’d recommend trying to apply a light layer of this beforehand because it does make a difference!
