Review on Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera Body (Kit Box) - No Lens Included, International Version with No Warranty by Kise Renouvnch ᠌

Great value for money, one of the best offers.

A picture, not a video, is what matters most in the camera! The defects are not serious and don't prevent you from taking a typical photo. It's just a shame that they forbid you from using some bells and whistles that are almost ever necessary. Gorgeous pictures! and the fotik is no longer required! Don't imagine that paying an extra $10,000 would bring you a better picture; the picture will still be about the same. Swivel screens, faster shooting speeds, and other possibilities are available with more expensive (up to $60,000) dx cameras.

Pros
  • weight, rubberized, more comfortable than the Kenon D1100, decent kit, affordable price for a DSLR, matrix with cleaning function, stamps three frames per second
Cons
  • The lack of functions that rely on the current firmware kills most people! not from the hardware! For instance, why didn't they add HDR images like on the 5100 and where is exposure bracketing (a series of shots with various exposures)? There is no such thing as a breaking function if you wish to build HDR! Creating a firmware that is similar to that of the earlier model is really nothing for the manufacturer to worry about! Naturally, the backlash of the memory card cover is not a serious issue, but the soapy screen irritates me a little. You won't be able to tell the difference between a clear and a soapy image from it, and processing images directly on the camera is also troublesome because its lenses are more expensive than Canon's.
