Suitable for scratching posts

We have a feral cat who likes to let us know she's hungry by scratching the back door upholstery. It ruined the trim around the door and when I saw this rug I was delighted that it wouldn't ruin the trim again. We actually attached it to the fairing with a few screws and it worked so well. The cat still goes to the back door, but now all she can do is scratch that carpet! Works well, just not sure how long it will last outdoors. The time will show.
