Review on πŸ‘– Columbia Women's Saturday Trail II Convertible Pant: Versatile Comfort for Outdoor Adventures by Jonathan Wilson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very optimistic about outdoor recreation

I'm 5'1" and most regular length hiking pants are about an inch too long for me. I have bought many hiking pants over the years and this is my third pair this year. Season pluses: - no fasteners. Weak buttons inevitably come loose when I bend over. Even pants that are very loose at the waist do not avoid this problem. That's why I like buttonholes and eyelets. These pants have buttons but the hardware seems pretty good. I think they will stay. - Belt loops. When carrying a large backpack, and especially a full backpack, the pants go down. The belt, to me, is a must-have for all but the most casual of hiking adventures. -good pockets.Front pockets are deep enough.I can put my iPhone in (always handy for photos and GPS).Back pockets are even deeper and can be attached with velcro.-look good and feel good when walking-right length-very reasonable price - converts to shorts I almost never buy hiking shorts that don't have this feature. I have pretty heavy quads so it's not uncommon for me. I've found that this problem can get better the longer you wear the pants. It's also not the most common position I find myself in with pants - the zip pocket would be a lot more useful if the pocket was vertical and the zip horizontal. Place it directly on the front of your thigh. I suppose it might hurt the fashion of the pants but it's not what I need. I look forward to taking these pants hiking next week!
