This is a heavy duty nailer that will drive nails up to 3.5 inches. I have used it in frame building, shed building and it has worked flawlessly. But then again, I've been using nailers for years, newbies can have a learning curve. First, this is a large nailer, one of the largest I've ever used. Holds more nails than most brands. I'm learning how to adjust the air pressure to get the right driving force, the fine tuning. Material on which you will use the nailer. Pounded 3-inch nails through 2x4s with ease. I wouldn't try this on hardwood, of course, but on lumber it's a no-brainer. Make sure you keep oil in the gun, either through the oil nozzle or if your compressor is oil lubricated this should do the trick. Simple product, works well. I don't know if it's meant for everyday use, but I do know that Craftsman stands behind their tools. I had a tool warranty issue 5 years ago and they stood behind the tool, very impressive. I'm glad to see the Craftsman brand endures despite Sears issues. I see Craftsman in other retail stores now. The price is very competitive compared to bigger brand nailers. The plastic case keeps the weight down but can make it prone to cracking if mishandled, I prefer the lighter weight!
