If you are considering a SmartWatch and checking prices, you have seen a huge price range. Just today, a simple search for smartwatches returned a list sorted by price. The smartwatch cost just under $30 and went up to over $1,000. As with ordinary wristwatches, the list includes smartwatches made of solid and plated precious metals, composites, stainless steel and plastic. As with wristwatches, you'll find acrylic, mineral, and sapphire crystals, leather and plastic straps, and cheap and expensive link bracelets. Like regular wristwatches, thinner smartwatches that are waterproof (compared to just water-resistant) also tend to have a higher price tag. They are designed to work with Android, IOS (Apple) and Samsung devices. Some only work with one type of device and others with a combination. There are some more expensive smartwatches with built-in SIM cards that don't even require a separate device. smartphone. Depending on the watch, the level of control varies. At this end of the price range, there aren't many tweaks that can be made. The BIT software doesn't offer the same customization options as my son-in-law's Samsung smartwatch. For example, she can set options to restrict which app notifications the watch receives. At BIT I have to turn off notifications from my phone so they don't come. That's just one of the reasons their smartwatch costs three times as much as this one. They perform basic functions like accessing email and text messages, receiving and making calls, and listening to music and podcasts. The BIT smartwatch's fitness tracking features (step counting, sleep monitoring, activity logging, etc.) are about the same as I'm used to, but they don't work with the fitness tracking app I've been using for the past year. I want the watch to work with any fitness app I assign so I don't lose all of the data I've collected. Personally, I'm glad I didn't shell out a lot of money for more expensive smartwatches. After a little over a week of daily wear, I've stopped wearing it that often. First, it doesn't hold enough charge to wear it all day without charging, and it's also inconvenient to charge. I stopped wearing a watch every day when I got my first smartphone. I've enjoyed them as accessories that I wear on occasions when I'm "dressing up". This does not mean that it is an accessory. It's too big and chunky for me, not noticeable for all the right reasons. Tag Heuer makes very nice 'connected' watches that are truly an accessory, but not for the price. Overall, while I don't like this watch, I have to say that it's a good way to get a feel for the functionality of a smartwatch without the expense of the bells and whistles and conveniences available in more expensive watches. I recommend it to anyone who has doubts about whether a smartwatch is right for them or not.
