Replacing an old, worn anchor.

I recently had to replace an anchor and stair rail at our public pool. The SR Smith handrail was a great replacement for a 20 year old piece that was wrinkled and discolored. The old anchor deteriorated and could no longer hold the handrails so it had to be replaced. The hardest part of the replacement was removing the old concrete and what was left of the old anchor. Once that job was done it was very easy to install and cement back into the pool deck. Being bronze I suspect it will last a very, very long time. The design of the anchor allows the rails to be installed and tightened early in the season and then stowed away during the winter months when the pool is closed. This replacement is very stable and ensures the safety of our guests. Using it in a new installation would be incredibly easy, and the design of the anchor is such that it firmly holds the rail attached to it. It is definitely worth getting an anchor made of bronze or some other metal that will last a long time as replacing these anchors is not a very pleasant task!
