I think I've found the military jacket of my dreams without big buttons and annoying laces. Aside from being useless, these buttons are large for my liking and feel like they will just catch on something and come off easily. I may need to reinforce the stitching on them to keep them in place longer than expected. Also, those laces seem to be better hidden underneath. I think they serve their purpose better when they're made out of a garter-like stretch material, so if you tug on one side, they tighten effectively immediately. I would say the sizing is good as the large size I ordered seems roomy enough for layering. I'm 5ft 4" and about 140lbs - I could probably easily get by with a medium, but the large is the best value. The length of the jacket adequately covers your bottom; The shoulders allow for easy arm movement and the sleeves look fantastic both folded and tucked. no I love that it has a hood and the quilted body gives it extra warmth. This is a mid-weight jacket suitable for cooler autumn or early winter, but definitely not for wet or scorching cold weather. I was hoping to go gray (tan) but was attracted by the price of this olive colored version. In the "face" olive looks great and versatile.
