As a prospective engineer and first snake owner, I wanted my baby pink boa to have the best home I could afford! Despite this, I was able to accurately measure the temperature in the cage, but the humidity was slightly lower than in the room it was in. So I knew I needed some sort of ventilation for my setup and when I did I resisted a bit as I wanted a nice clean symmetrical setup. When I read that the fans were about two feet apart, I knew they would work just fine. And to my surprise, they worked even better than I thought! I love how they are adjustable, the fans themselves fit perfectly between my flashlight's legs, and an added bonus was that there is a USB socket to potentially daisy chain them or anything else powered via USB take care of. I've already found a few uses for the extra USB on my cage, like using it as an instant air blower when I do a freshwater change to release excess moisture, I've been messing around with an old Android tablet. to watch your pet from afar (TIP: snakes are nocturnal, smart devices don't have night vision :/), but now I'm thinking about using a Raspberry Pi with an IR camera or other set of suction fans. The fans don't seem to bother me even on the highest settings, although I have a fan with a dehumidifier in my room, so I'm not the best example of its decibel range. The moisture difference seems to even out within an hour or two, which is what it took me. Their weight seems negligible as I wanted to attach everything to the screen so I could lift the entire screen rather than picking it up. the fan is off, the light and then the screen to minimize the chance of a snake running away. Of course I'm not using these to dissipate heat from the device, but I think they would work great for my PS4 or PC. I plan to buy at least one more set and will use them later.
