Not sure if mine was defective or something, but only green and purple spots seemed to be visible on my Riedel glasses, which puts me to good: I was a bit apprehensive about using quality wine glasses. I would have problems with the marks coming off. No problem! It worked well. All wash off easily. I used them for gifts to friends where I had 20 people and used them again for Thanksgiving where I decided to just use purple and green so they could be read. Again, I really thought the purple and green would show up well, but to be honest the other colors were smudged and didn't really show up either. I wrote all names on glasses in advance to arrange at each table. I will probably only use them for Christmas (green marker only) and maybe a Mardi Gras party.
