I bought these shoes after my left toe surgery (bursitis). Six weeks after the surgery I found that the rest of the shoes were too narrow so I looked for a wider shoe that also had room for stretch. I'm glad I found this shoe. It really helps when I'm on my feet all day and the swelling gets bad. I used to be a size 7.5 and often buy a size 8 or 8.5 to accommodate my bunions. I was given a size 9 in this shoe to accommodate swelling and it has worked well. It comes with 3 levels of damping. I can't put all 3 in shoes but I can put 2 on and they are very comfortable. I love that I can easily put them on and take them off with the velcro fastening keeping the leg in place. These shoes have served me well so far and they look pretty good. I noticed that today my bright blue socks are sticking out from under my boot, so they don't go in the rain. On the other hand, they are very breathable.
