I bought a junior fifty dollars after I shot 50 / 1.4, taken from a friend. I don't see much difference in picture quality. In addition to the "nuts" in the bokeh on a full hole and the absence of USM-FTM. I shot them about 300 frames for the New Year. Mostly portraits. When analyzing images, I found 90% out of focus on an open hole (1.8-2.0). It turned out that there is a strong front focus. I have a 7D camera, so I decided to adjust the autofocus. I chose "adjustment separately for each lens." For an accurate hit on the target, almost the maximum correction was required - 18 steps. I checked it at different focusing distances - now it focuses exactly on the target. If it were not for the presence of autofocus adjustment (for example, on the 550D), then the glass could be thrown out. I suspect that this is the situation in many instances. After that, I adjusted the autofocus of other lenses - everyone needed adjustment, but not to the same extent (+\- 5 steps) as the younger half-tone. By the way, the video turns out to be excellent, if only the focus ring would be wider and the stroke would be smoother. In general, I recommend everyone to have this poltos.
