I compared similar beds and read hundreds of reviews before finally deciding on this bed for my dog. This is a very elderly Basenji, mostly deaf, partially blind and suffering from canine senile dementia. I am not sure how much time he has left on this earth but no matter how much time he has I want him to live in comfort and love. Since the bed can only be used for a short time I really didn't want to spend a lot of money, but I also wanted something that would give him the comfort I think he needs. This bed was a HUGE win! He's quite a picky little dog and loves everything in his own way (you'll understand if you have a Basenji). For years he has slept on his dog bed and when we fall asleep he tries to sneak up to our bed and lie between us. He loves having a warm body pressed tightly against either side of him. I was looking for a bed that would hug him so he would (hopefully!) stop sleeping with me. As he got older he developed Restless Legs Syndrome and repeatedly kicked me into my sleep hard so I urgently need to give him a comfortable place to sleep that is NOT my bed. He was in bed for two nights - and for the first time in many years he spent the entire first night IN HIS BED! We woke up the next morning and he was still cuddling, just like when we went to bed. We had to touch him to wake him up and let him go outside. This has NEVER happened! Last night (the second night with the bed) was exactly the same and I had to touch him again to wake him up and get him out. I couldn't be happier with this bed. The price was reasonable and my little dog loved it. I think he sleeps much better than in recent years!
