I like that it doesn't take up space in my backpack. It uses small branches and requires little food during cooking, but the temperature can be adjusted by maintaining a small flame if desired. The alcohol plate is about 5 ounces lighter. so I could carry 5 ounces of fuel. When I need more than a few pots of water, this is the way to go. I put my pan on the fire a lot so I'm used to a little sooty scrubbing, it cleans well and works better than on fire. I've reduced the weight of the bag and just use a zippered bag and stuff it in my food. This is a very solid construction.
