I bought these mirrors to improve visibility when towing a 24ft trailer. They certainly made merging and restoring safer and made backups a lot easier. An unexpected bonus: these mirrors eliminate blind spots even when not being towed. I thought towing mirrors might be cumbersome when not needed for towing, but turns out I always enjoy having them on. Installation is a bit tricky - you have to remove the door panel to get to the connector. There are no instructions in the box, but information is available on the GM Trucks online forums. I installed these mirrors on my 2010 Silverado 1500 LT with no problems. The electrical connection is "plug and play" and the functions work as they should (indicators, heating, remote control).
