I was a bit disappointed when I first used it because it looked very watery and felt like it was soaking right into the paper (especially on black paper). But after a few uses it started showing colors and flickering. Then, when the ink dries, the color appears on the paper; Before that, it looks like watermark. Also, you may have to tilt the pen a lot to get the shimmer as it sometimes gets stuck at the bottom of the tip. It can be a brush calligraphy practice set.
