Review on ๐Ÿ“น High-performance VGADVI Broadcaster - Video Encoder and Streaming Device, VGA, DVI, HDMI Compatible by James Vilchez

Poor design with unreliable hardware and even worse support

Purchased for recording/broadcasting college courses. It seemed like a good concept and the friend was happy with another Epiphan product. After receiving the device, we learned about its very poor design - the sound is synchronized with the slide channel, not with the video channel, and in multistreaming mode the mode is useless (one person can't just talk. The sound is on a other track). When viewed in dual-stream mode, the speaker's video lags behind the audio by 4-5 seconds. When creating a single merged image, a delay of maybe 0.5 to 1 second is better, but still not possible for live streaming - ie it doesn't serve its purpose. For recorded video, we could at least reprocess and re-sync the streams, but that would mean extra work. That is unnecessary. After about 2 months of use for 4-5 hours a week, the device began to freeze, not recording on command, and when recording frequently, the video would freeze. Customer service was terrible, most of the time they didn't answer questions from their online support system and didn't respond to emails. I told them I would write this review and all I got was crickets. I don't think I will ever buy an Epiphan product again. I will do a video review with the device when I get a chance to better understand the quality, but I suggest you avoid this product and possibly this company.
