I mostly like this dress a lot. I ordered a size up as I didn't know how constraining the dress would be, or how it would lay/cling. I found the dress quite flattering to the body and I feel like it hangs and drapes well on my lower half, where I am most self-conscious. That said, the chest is HUGE. I admit I'm not the most robust, but I am a C cup, so I'm probably fairly average. This is almost comically huge up there, like, I think Dolly Parton might be like "Oh, nice, it's not too snug". I'll definitely have to get it taken in up there. Once that's managed though, I do like the dress a lot.While yes, this obviously has a costume effect to it as such a specific period piece, I could still see it passing for just a fun cocktail party. It's really quite elegant and flattering. I worried, it'd be over-the top-costumey and it isn't. It's fairly well made and has a nice detailed pattern that is very sparkly and fun. It's a great length and has a great cut everywhere but the bust. I definitely look forward to wearing it out. AFTER I get the chest taken in.
